Dr. Ray Kong, values integrity and patients’ overall well being, providing permanent restoration of health without side effects. He is a licensed acupuncturist, and is nationally board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Dr. Kong has earned both a Master and Ph.D. degree in Oriental Medicine, and has completed several hospital externship trainings and residency programs in China, South Korea, and the United States. Dr. Kong has dedicated himself to learning new acupuncture techniques from well-known acupuncturists and volunteering for community clinics.
With his firm foundation in both Western and Eastern medical disciplines, Dr. Kong has earned trust from many doctors at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital System and the University of Michigan Hospital, who then routinely refer patients to him. During his time practicing acupuncture in Ann Arbor, Dr. Kong has been a guest lecturer at the University of Michigan and has done a lot of work with the Athletic Department. Dr. Kong has educated medical students about Chinese medicine while they were interning. He is a big fan and supporter of the Univeristy of Michigan sports teams and athletes.
As a Michigan representative for the National Guild of Oriental Medicine Dr. Kong is happy to share his medical knowledge and acupuncture techniques with the larger community.
Dr. Kong is the descendant of Confucius (Kong Zi 孔子) and the eighth generation acupuncturist of an influential medical family in China.
